Norlha is the opportunity to work with a rare, little known and beautiful fiber and with the help of innovative methods to transform it into a range of exceptional products for the luxury market. Norlha offers the possibility to explore the unknown and create textiles with unlimited possibilities. Norlha is creativity with a meaning. Collecting khullu and making it into a high value added product creates a precedent that has the potential to change the economic landscape of an impoverished area.
Norlha weaves over 10,000 scarves, shawls, and blankets and over 2,000 meters of fabric per year. We produce two collections of accessories per year, Spring/ Summer and Autumn/Winter. Other collections include Lifestyle with plaids and blankets and Classics, a timeless collection of basics.
The Norlha Fabric Collection includes a series of over fifteen fabrics updated each year with new creations. The range includes weights of up to 700grams per linear meter (140cm) of 100% yak wool in double or triple weights, to light weights of 280grams. These textiles, the unique feel of yak wool can be sold by the meter for clothing and home furnishings.
Norlha has several collections of finished products. Toys, the Norlha Clothing Collection and the Tibetan Wardrobe with traditional Tibetan clothing for the local market that offer high quality materials with a modern touch. The Tibetan wardrobe also includes high quality monk’s shawls or zens.
In 2012, Norlha created a small knitted collection with a team of hand knitters. It includes hats, neck warmers, cowls, leg warmers, mittens and simple sweaters. In 2013, we plan to move into a baby and children’s collection.
Norlha sells OEM to various high fashion high houses in Paris.
